# Quickstart — 20 minutes, nothing to install

You need a browser, an account with any chat model (Claude, ChatGPT, Kimi, or a
local one), and your Signal handle.

## 1. Sort your channels (3 minutes)

Open `operating-rules.md` and read the three tiers. Write down which of your
messengers are Tier 2. Those are the ones getting an agent.

Signal, SimpleX and Threema are Tier 0. They stay human. Never put an agent
there.

## 2. Fill in your persona (10 minutes)

Open `persona.md`, copy it, replace everything in angle brackets. Be concrete
about tone — it is the difference between an agent that sounds like you and one
that sounds like a helpdesk.

## 3. Start the agent (2 minutes)

Open a new chat with your model and paste, in this order:

1. your filled-in `persona.md`
2. `disclosure.md`
3. `operating-rules.md`

Then add: *"Wait for me to paste incoming messages. Reply as the agent. Start
every new conversation with the opening disclosure."*

## 4. Use it (ongoing)

Paste incoming Tier 2 messages in, paste the replies back out. Clumsy on
purpose: in manual mode you see every message before it goes, which is exactly
what makes the crisis rule work.

## 5. Post the badge (1 minute)

```
🤖 Non-E2EE = AI. Real me: Signal @yourhandle
```

Put it in your bio on every Tier 2 network. This is the part that actually
spreads the standard, so do not skip it.

## 6. Tell people (4 minutes)

Post the link to the manifesto once. Anyone who wants a real conversation now
knows where to find you.

Automating steps 4 and 5 is what the v0.2 runtime does. The standard works
without it.
